We have a range of sessions to accommodate every child and need.
The Welsh Government has implemented the Flying Start Childcare program in Flintshire. If you reside in a Flying Start expansion area, your child is eligible for a funded childcare placement from the term following their second birthday until the end of the term in which they turn three in a Flying Start registered childcare setting.
Children are entitled to a 2.5-hour session per day, up to 5 days a week, during term-time only. If you require fewer than 5 days or need to customize the sessions, you can discuss this with our Flying Start Team to ensure it best meets the child's needs.
Consistent attendance at high-quality childcare has been shown to significantly enhance children's outcomes. If you live in a Flying Start area, we encourage you to take advantage of the childcare placement to support your child. During these sessions, we facilitate children's play, the development of friendships, and the learning of self-expression, offering a variety of activities for learning and growth.
The adult-to-child ratio is 1:4.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for children attending the morning session at St Winefrides School Nursery to extend their day until 3 pm with wrap-around care at St Winefrides Preschool. Upon conclusion of the morning session, your child will be escorted from their classroom at 11:30 to the Preschool room for a nourishing lunch and an enriching afternoon of activities. Each child is required to bring a packed lunch, or they may choose to opt for a school dinner, which can be paid for at the school. Following lunch, your child will have an afternoon of free play in our preschool room. Our Preschool Plus program aligns with the foundation phase curriculum, providing children with the opportunity to learn and grow naturally through play.
As a setting, we have an excellent opportunity for parents/carers to use the 30-hour childcare offer. This is a perfect opportunity for those parents/carers who work more than 16 hours a week to utilise full-day care at no cost.
The adult-to-child ratio is 1:8.
